IT Security
The course is aimed at those individuals who have already gained an IT background but wish to familiarise themselves with Computer Data Security Practices.
Computers around the world are systematically being victimised by rampant hacking. This hacking is being executed so flawlessly that the attackers can compromise a system, steal everything of value and completely erase their tracks within twenty minutes.
The aim of the course is to allow the Student to use known techniques that a hacker would employ to compromise the security of a computer system. The fundamental difference for the Student as opposed to a hacker is the motive to secure data rather than to compromise it and to act with honesty and integrity at all times when securing their employees or clients data.
This is done by deploying legal pre-emptive measures to minimise the risks posed by viruses, email spamming, Trojan horse programmes, physical security of laptops and other mobile devices including USB drives along with privacy on the internet, economic espionage and electronic terrorist threats.
With increasing reliance upon computer systems for business functionality in the global market place the ability for individuals to provide adequate security measures for their employer or client’s computer system and data are of paramount importance to business integrity and continuity.
